Choosing between a laptop or desktop can be very difficult if you don’t know the benefits of having either of them. And that’s fine... if you are looking for answers, we are here to help you out so you can choose the perfect computer that fits your individual goals.

You should know what you want from your computer before buying it. Like, would you rather have more battery life or a lower price, a larger screen, or greater portability? There are few criteria you'll need to consider and determine what best fits your needs.

In this blog, we are going to share few pros of having either a laptop or computer because both of them don't really offer the best of both worlds. So let’s get started!

Advantages of Desktop:

If you have a desktop you can have any size of screen you want… especially a bigger one! With laptop size of the screen is limited to the size of the device and usually, the size is smaller than desktop.

The second thing is the cost of the desktop. There is a wide variety of component options available for assembling desktops, allowing for a large range of prices, and also the starting point is relatively cheap than many laptops.

Though laptop processors have nearly caught up to the desktop, there is always a chance where you can upgrade your desktop with the latest processor whenever you want. So we can say desktops wins this category too.

Also, according to my personal experience, desktops last longer than laptops. Not because the lifespan of a desktop is more, it’s because they are repairable. Desktop chassis is a much bigger laptop and hence they are easy to repair

Advantages of Laptop:

The first and main advantage of a laptop is its mobility. The lightweight, compact size, the built-in battery of the laptop allows it to move from one place to other easily.

The laptop is a complete product in one package. It has a keyboard, built-in mouse (touchpad), built-in speakers, built-in microphone, and built-in camera. Thus laptop does not need any additional device to be connected for usage.

The power usage that a laptop uses is less than a desktop because it has smaller components, meaning less electricity is needed to make them work.

So these are the pros of having a desktop or a laptop. In the end, it all depends on what your needs are. It sounds ridiculous, as overview may appear to lean towards desktop computers as the best option. But if you want portability then there is no better choice than a laptop. Desktop is basically good for graphic-intensive gaming, use of CAD applications, and for those who prefer to have the option of upgrading more easily.
